Cooking With Confidence: A Farm-to-Table Cooking Program for 8-12 Year Olds

  • Congregation B'nai Israel 253 Prospect Street Northampton, MA, 01060 United States (map)

Kids aged 8-12 will build up their confidence and skills in the kitchen, using produce harvested on Abundance Farm. This program is led by Abundance Farm’s Director of Outdoor Education, Nili Simhai, as well as local professional chefs and bakers! By attending this program, kids will be able to collect their Abundance Farm Cooking badge.

We are excited to announce our guest chef for the November 7 session of Cooking with Confidence : Tahani Al Zamel!

Tahani will be teaching us how to make quick bread, savory treats, and sweet treats on a saj (the convex black metal pan on the fire in the photo). Tahani and her family immigrated from Syria 2 years ago. When they lived in Syria, they would cook bread on the saj every Friday.

Registration

Cost is $10-20 per workshop ($20-40 for both) on a sliding scale for each program; registration in advance is required. Please register by filling out the form here. After you have submitted your registration information, please select your form of payment.

This event is cosponsored by PJ Library and Beit Ahavah: The Reform Synagogue of Greater Northampton.
